FERTILE LIBRARY TO HOST WORKSHOP FOR SENIORS

Get the inside scoop on how seniors can help their community, plus learn about the many resources available for seniors with the Tri-Valley Opportunity Council with a workshop at the Fertile Public Library. Alicia Barrow, Senior Programs Manager for Tri-Valley Opportunity Council, will answer questions and discuss various programs the Tri-Valley Opportunity Council provides for the area, including volunteer opportunities and a number of resources for seniors in our community. The workshop will be offered free-of-charge and will be held on Tuesday, February 20, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Fertile Public Library, 101 Mill St. S.

The Fertile Public Library’s Resolute Readers Book Club will meet this month to discuss “Next Year in Havana” by Chanel Cleeton. After the death of her beloved grandmother, a Cuban-American woman travels to Havana, where she discovers the roots of her identity – and unearths a family secret hidden since the revolution. The group will meet on Wednesday, February 21, at 4 p.m. at the Fertile Public Library, located at 101 Mill St. S. All are welcome.

The November book selection is “Fly Girls” by Keith O’Brien, which the group will discuss on March 20 at 4 p.m.
