On special teams, the Jimmies were 1-of-5, while the Golden Eagles were 1-of-3.

Minnesota Crookston jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the ninth minute when Fuller scored his first goal of the season and the first short-handed tally of the year for the Golden Eagles. Jamestown struck less than two minutes later when Hoffman scored a power-play goal off assists from Rollo and Gibbs. UMC took the 2-1 advantage in the waning seconds of the first period when Zahradka scored his team-leading 11th goal of the season off an assist from Fuller.

Fuller continued his big game in the third minute of the second period as he found the back of the net off assists from Tristan Morneault (So., F, Dieppe, New Brunswick) and Nathan Huot (Fr., D, Red Lake Falls, Minn.) to make it 3-1.  The Golden Eagles added to their tally when Baxter scored his first career goal after Dylan Neubauer (Fr., F, Thompson, N.D.) found him for the assist. The goal put UMC ahead 4-1 in the 11th minute of the second period.  Minnesota Crookston struck again less than two minutes later when Zahradka added his 12th goal of the year on a power-play opportunity. Borseth and Josh Pieper (Sr., D, Baudette, Minn.) picked up assists on the tally.  The Golden Eagles added a goal in the 18th minute of the second period when Syrup found the back of the net off assists from Rajala and Casey Kallock (Sr., D, Alvarado, Minn.).

Minnesota Crookston pushed their advantage to 7-1 in the second minute of the third period when Baxter scored his second goal of the game and the second of his career, this time off an assist from Rajala.  Jamestown added a tally in the eighth minute of the third period when Gibbs scored off assists from Rollo and Christian Jarmusz. The Golden Eagles pushed their advantage to 8-2 in the 10th minute when Syrup scored his second goal of the game, this time the feed came from Borseth.

Jamestown added a final tally, as Hoffman put it between the pipes off assists from Rollo and Jensen Baehr. The Jimmies were unable to overcome the substantial deficit and fell 8-3.
The Golden Eagles improve to 4-3-2 (2-2-2 WCCHA) with the non-conference victory. Minnesota Crookston moves to 2-1 against the Jimmies this season. Jamestown fell to 3-5 with Friday’s loss.
Minnesota Crookston will look to pick up the weekend sweep as they take on Jamestown Saturday, January 27 at Wilson Arena in Jamestown, N.D.
