GRAND FORKS POLICE ARREST MAN FOR TERRORIZING AFTER HE FIRES SHOTGUN

On September 8, 2022, around 10:36 p.m., Officers of the Grand Forks Police Department were dispatched to the area of 2120 Library Ln for a report of a gunshot. After a short investigation, it was determined that a male subject, Scott Mittledorf, had confronted two females from his second-level balcony as they were attempting to catch a dog in the lawn in front of 2120 Library Ln. Mittledorf exchanged words with the females and fired a shotgun round into the air. Several members of the Grand Forks Police arrived on the scene and began trying to locate and make contact with Mittledorf, who was believed to be inside his apartment. Around midnight, Officers made contact with Mittledorf, and he was taken into custody without incident. Mittledorf was arrested for Terrorizing, Discharge of a Firearm within City limits, and reckless endangerment.
