On Sunday, January 23, 2022, at approximately 2:10 a.m., officers of the Grand Forks Police Department were dispatched to the area of 1215 North 39th Street for the sound of gunfire outside this building. No suspects or victims were located, however, during a canvass search of the area officers located several shell casings outside the apartment complex 1111 North 39th Street. At this time, it is believed there is no immediate danger to the public.
The Grand Forks Sheriff’s Office and the University of North Dakota Police Department assisted during this incident. This is an open and ongoing investigation. Anyone with information, or who may have witnessed the incident, is encouraged to contact the Grand Forks Police Department.
