On Thursday, March 4, at approximately 6:15 p.m., officers of the Grand Forks Police Department attempted to perform a traffic stop for a stolen vehicle. The suspect vehicle pulled into the parking lot of Cenex on South 20th St. The suspect briefly stopped then sped away from Officers.
The Grand Forks Police continued to follow the suspect vehicle with emergency equipment activated. The suspect driver, later identified as Brice Gamboa, age 30, from Grand Forks. Gamboa struck a vehicle at 24th & South Washington St. Gamboa continued to flee from the officers.
The Grand Forks Police officers were able to perform a PIT (Pursuit Intervention Technique) maneuver on the suspect vehicle in the 2700 block of 24th Ave. So. Gamboa exited the vehicle and was arrested. Gamboa was taken to the correctional center; he was cited for multiply offenses including, Possession of Stolen Property, Reckless Endangerment, Reckless Driving, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
