The 33rd Annual Miss Crookston Scholarship Pageant was held Monday night at the Crookston High School auditorium.
Halle Winjum, daughter of Chris and Leah Winjum, was crowned Miss Crookston 2023. Halle also won the Personal Interview.
The first runner-up was Calleigh Fanfulik, daughter of Mindy and Chad Fanfulik. Calleigh also won On-Stage Presence and Miss Congeniality.
The second runner-up was Emily Boucher, daughter of Stephanie and John Boucher. Emily also won Talent, Evening Gown, Miss Congeniality, and the Freedom Award.
Miss Crookston 2017 Aleece Durbin was the emcee.
Jean Ann Bienek is the Miss Crookston Pageant Director, and committee members include Adrianne Winger, Lindsay Erdman, and Judy Meyer.
Debbie Fontaine choreographed the production number. Steve and Joe Krueger were in charge of the lights and sounds. Bo Brorby of KJAD Productions did videography. The photographer was Lacia Hanson. Flowers were provided by Crookston Floral, D and D’s Thomforde’s Garden Center, and Country Korner Floral. The sashes were by Kay Oien. The contestant interview host was St. Paul’s Lutheran Church.
$4,750 dollars in educational scholarships were awarded, with $2,275 in UMC scholarships awarded. In the past 33 years, 238 young women have participated in the program, and there have been over $82,000 in education scholarships awarded.
