HARVEST OF KNOWLEDGE CONFERENCE TO BE HELD OCTOBER 29 IN GRAND FORKS

Minnesota and North Dakota Agri-Women’s “Harvest of Knowledge” Conference Committee has finalized the program for their 38th conference to be held October 29, 2021, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Ramada Inn Grand Forks, North Dakota.

The Keynote speaker at this year’s conference is Amanda Radke. Amanda Radke is a fifth-generation rancher from Mitchell, S.D., who has dedicated her career to serving as a voice for the nation’s farmers and ranchers. Since 2008, Radke has tackled hot industry issues on the BEEF Daily blog for BEEF Magazine. She provides tools and strategies for producers to effectively engage with consumers and counter negative media articles on social media. She will be presenting “Revealing the Fake Meat Agenda.”

Emmery Mehlhoff, NDFB, will be presenting “Getting to Know your Representatives.” The importance of contacting them and their offices and the protocols/etiquette of doing so.

We are also having a segment on “Powerful Tools for Caregivers.” Whether it is a spouse, child, sibling, parent, there is a chance we will be someone’s caregiver. This can be quite overwhelming, but there is help in the community for caregivers. Molly Soeby, Community Wellness Agent – Grand Forks Extension, will be explaining the tools of this program.

Ending our conference, we have Theresa Helgeson, UMC Campus Greenhouse Manager/Lab Coordinator showing us how to make a holiday arrangement. Not too early to be thinking of the holiday decor. Early registration is encouraged. The $40.00 fee includes all speaker presentations, lunch, silent auction, ag fair, and prizes. The door fee is $50.00.

For further information or to request a registration form, contact Donna Ulseth at 218-2801335 or Karen Landman at 701-326-4523. Harvest of Knowledge is made possible by a grant from Small Grains Institute and donations from Red River Valley Sugarbeet Growers Association and many area businesses.
