OX CART DAYS HERSHEY’S SMORES EVENT A HUGE SUCCESS

The Ox Cart Days smores event had to be moved to the Crookston Sports Center Friday night because of the rain, but that didn’t stop people from heading out to the arena enjoying smores and the other Ox Cart Days activities.

Hundreds of families and community members showed up at the sports center ready to eat. Hershey’s sent people all the way from Pennsylvania to cover the event and even donated 40,000 chocolate bars to the City of Crookston. They were seen at the event on Friday night taking pictures and filming for an upcoming commercial that they’ll run.

The event was so successful, that there will be a second round of smores tomorrow at the Downtown Square with all the extra Chocolate Bars Hershey’s sent. It will take place following the parade.

The smores were made on Travis Oliver’s one-of-a-kind homemade fire tables that he and students from the Crookston High School industrial tech classes made during this past school year.

UMC placed three Golden Tickets amongst the smores kits for three lucky winners. Only one was drawn Friday with Jared Tice winning a Golden Eagle Maroon and Gold Package (including apparel and novelties).

Pictures from the event are down below.
