The Home Delivered Meals programs prepare and deliver nutritious meals to older adults and people with disabilities who are unable to make the food for themselves or travel to a site where a meal is served. Home Delivered Meals board member Marley Melbye said the board plans to continue delivering those meals in the Crookston community through this time. “The Home Delivered Meals board is running as long as we can,” said Melbye. “We’ve got volunteers lined up for sure for the next couple of weeks. As long as we can, we’re going to keep feeding our senior population. People that have already been enrolled in the program will maintain their meals until we hear that they can’t. But, so far, that’s not what’s going on.”
Home delivered meals are prepared at RiverView Health and have been providing hot, nutritionally balanced noon meals five days a week to individuals who would otherwise not have a warm, nutritious meal in Crookston since 1976.
