JULIE ZIMMEL HONORED AS RIVERVIEW HEALTH EMPLOYEE OF THE MONTH

Fall is an extra busy time for RiverView Health’s Julie Zimmel, who is not only an RN in the Crookston Clinic but is also the vaccine coordinator. With the start of vaccination season for the flu, RSV (Respiratory Syncytial Virus), and COVID-19, Julie has a lot on her plate. Yet, even in the busy vaccination season, Julie is praised for her calm demeanor. For that reason and many more, she was recently named RiverView’s September Employee of the Month.

Julie has worked at RiverView for two years, the first in Internal Medicine and now in Family Medicine with Dr. Lauren Rose. “As I continue to grow my career at RiverView, I hope to continue to prove myself as an asset to the team and build relationships with our patients, staff, and community,” she shared.

A Fertile area native, she and her husband, Chris, have three children: Carter, 17; Aubree, 14; and Nolan, 6 ½. The Zimmels lived in Fargo from 2000-2019 but moved back to the area, settling near Maple Lake in the summer of 2019. “We wanted to raise our kids closer to our families and bring them up in the same small town, school, and community atmosphere that we valued growing up.”

Time with family and friends, lake time, and golfing are some of Julie’s favorite ways to spend her time. Of her RiverView recognition, she stated: “I am very honored to be named Employee of the Month, especially after only working at RiverView such a short time. Many of the staff and providers I get the pleasure of working with each day are just as deserving of such recognition.

“I am very thankful for the opportunity to work with Dr. Rose each day. She is a wonderful physician who is constantly going above and beyond for her patients, and I feel we make an amazing team. It is rewarding to work in an environment in which we can impact others’ lives.”
