Katherine Geist Wins Sauk Centre Meet

Crookston High School’s Katherine Geist won the Sauk Centre Cross Country meet easily at the Old Sauk Centre Country Club to remain perfect (has won every meet she has competed in) on the year.
Katherine had a time of 19:20, which was 1:18 better than the runner-up, from Sauk Centre.  “Katherine had another fantastic run in some unfamiliar territory. We made the trip to Sauk Centre in hopes of seeing some different teams and some tougher competition,” said Coach Kirk Misialek. “Katherine ran her race and was focused throughout. She won the race rather handily and was never threatened. Katherine always goes out strong and grabs the race early. Seven straight races won has been the result. We travel to a large meet on Saturday in Duluth. This will be Katherine’s biggest test this season. Excited to watch one of the best runners in the state perform.”
