Linda Elaine Kotera – OBIT

Linda Elaine Kotera, 80, a beloved mother, and cherished friend passed away peacefully on October 23, 2024, at the Villa St. Vincent in Crookston, Minnesota.

Linda was born in Duluth, MN, on October 10, 1944, to loving parents, Fred and Laura (Banks) Fralick. Linda grew up in Duluth and graduated from Duluth Central High School. As a devoted homemaker, Linda poured her heart into creating a warm and loving environment for her three sons: Clayton, Ernest Lee III, and Erik. She embraced the role of a single mother with grace and determination, raising her children to become successful individuals. Her legacy is one of nurturing and strength, as she instilled values of kindness, perseverance, and integrity in her boys. Their accomplishments are a testament to her unfaltering support and guidance throughout their lives. Linda was a woman of many talents. She found joy in the simple things like knitting, and cooking; skills she loved to share with those she cherished. Her boys will always remember their mother’s home cooking.
Linda Elaine Kotera leaves behind a treasure trove of memories for her family and friends to hold dear. While she may no longer be with us in body, her spirit will live on in the hearts of those she touched. Her love will continue to be a guiding light for her sons as they carry forth the love, lessons, and memories she so generously imparted.

May God Bless the memory of Linda Kotera.

Linda’s family would like to extend a special thank you to the caregivers at the Villa St. Vincent for taking such good care of their mother; as well as a thank you to Hospice of Red River Valley for their compassion and care. Words cannot express the gratitude they feel.

She is survived by 2 sisters, Marlene Fralick Thompson (Ward), of Heartland, MI, Sharon (Jim) Olson, of Duluth, MN, her three sons: Clayton (Dawn) Beitel of Saint Louis Park, MN, Ernie (Colleen) Beitel of Solway, MN, and Erik (Sheryl) Beitel of Thief River Falls, MN; 12 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; as well as many other relatives. She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Laura Fralick, and sister, Diane Fralick.
