Lyle Glass – Obit

Lyle Keith Glass, age 67, of Medora, ND passed away in his home on Wednesday, June 27, 2018. Lyle was born on June 22, 1951 in Crookston, MN to Russell and Jeanette Glass. He attended elementary school and high school in Crookston, MN and graduated from Central High School in 1969. After high school, Lyle attended Bemidji State College and UMC in Crookston. Lyle stayed in Crookston until 1973 and then he moved to Medora, ND and worked winters at the West Fargo Stock Yard. He then moved to Boulder, CO. to work on the Van Vleet Arabian Ranch. Lyle also lived in Mapleton, ND to take care of horses during the winter months. He then settled back in Medora, ND. While living in Medora, Lyle worked for the Theodore Roosevelt Medora Foundation, and did photography as a hobby and also as a side job. Lyle was baptized at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Crookston, and then later confirmed at the St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Gentilly. He was awarded the UMC Outstanding Alumnus Award for his work and achievements in Medora. Lyle will be remembered for his love for horses and going horseback riding. He loved all wildlife. Lyle also loved acting in musicals and was very good with photography. Lyle is survived by his sisters, Kathryn Glass, Colleen (Elton) Solseng, Valerie (Ralph) Currier, Mary Glass, and Phyllis Glass; brothers, James (Lorie) Glass and Ronald “Scott” (Riitta) Glass; and numerous nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. May God bless Lyle’s Memory. There will be a visitation held from 5:00-7:00 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, July 2, 2018 at the Stenshoel-Houske Funeral Home in Crookston, MN. The Mass of Christian Burial will be at 1:00 p.m. with a visitation one hour prior to service on Tuesday, July 3, 2018 at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Gentilly, MN. Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery in Crookston, MN. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Theodore Roosevelt Medora Foundation or a charity of the giver’s choice.
