MAN CHARGED WITH RECKLESS ENDANGERMENT FOR GUN DISCHARGING IN GRAND FORKS APARTMENT BUILDING

On February 26, 2021, at approximately 2:11 a.m., officers of the Grand Forks Police Department were dispatched to the apartment building located at 2323 S. 17th Street for a report of gunfire in the building.  After investigation, it was determined that a firearm had been discharged in a third-floor apartment.  The bullet traveled through the floor of the third-floor apartment then into and through the ceiling of the second-floor apartment beneath.  This second-floor apartment was occupied at the time of the incident.

The investigation revealed 24-year-old St. Paul, MN resident Jordan Stone had fired a handgun in the third-floor apartment.  Stone indicated he thought the handgun was not loaded at the time he was manipulating it.  Stone was arrested on scene and charges of Reckless Endangerment have been forwarded to the Grand Forks County States Attorney’s Office.
