The Minnesota Department of Agriculture (MDA) has made a Public Service Announcement, announcing that the department is sponsoring opportunities for people to properly dispose of their unwanted weed killers/herbicides, fungicides, insecticides, and other pesticides from their farms, businesses, or homes. Minnesota pesticide users can bring their waste pesticides to any of the following events and dispose of up to 300 pounds, free of charge. For amounts greater than 300 pounds, citizens will have to call the MDA at 612-215-6843 to make arrangements for them.
These waste sites and dates include,
- The CHS Ag Services at 1009 South Atlantic Ave., in Hallock on Tuesday, August 9, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m.
- The CHS Ag Services at 420 South Main Street in Warren on Wednesday, August 10, from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m.
- The CHS Ag Services at 806 Elevator Road in Oklee on Wednesday, August 10, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m.
- The CHS Ag Services at 3035 Highway 75 South in Crookston, on Thursday, August 11, from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m.
- The West Central Ag Services at 334 1st Street SE in Ulen, on Thursday, August 11, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m.
This disposal is for waste pesticides only. The services will not accept paint, fuel, crop oils, rinsates, or recycling during these times.
