MINNESOTA REPORTS 4,849 NEW COVID CASES AND 28 DEATHS, POLK COUNTY HAS 14 NEW CASES AND 1 DEATH

The Minnesota Department of Health released the COVID-19 numbers for today and the state reported 4,849 cases with 28 deaths. 1 death was reported in northwest Minnesota, in Polk County. Polk County reported 14 new cases with fourteen probable, Mahnomen County had 6 with one probable, Roseau County had 4, Pennington County had 4 with seven probable, Kittson County had 4, Red Lake County had 3 with four probable, Norman County had 2 with one probable,  and Marshall County had 1 with two probable.

Data is for cases that were tested and returned positive. At-home test results are not counted by MDH.

All data is preliminary and may change as cases are investigated. Many data points are collected during case interviews. Data presented below is for all cases, regardless of interview status. Data for cases pending interview may be listed as “unknown/missing.”

Positive PCR test results are considered confirmed cases. Positive antigen test results are considered probable cases. All probable cases get the same public health follow up and recommendations as cases confirmed by PCR tests.

Because all data is preliminary, the change in number of cumulative positive cases and deaths from one day to the next may not equal the newly reported cases or deaths.
