MINNESOTA REPORTS 5,123 NEW COVID CASES AND 43 DEATHS, POLK COUNTY HAS 37 NEW CASES

The Minnesota Department of Health released the COVID-19 numbers for today and the state reported 5,123 cases with 43 deaths. 0 deaths were reported in northwest Minnesota. Polk County reported 37 new cases with nine probable, Roseau County had 15, Marshall County had 9 with two probable, Norman County had 8 with three probable, Mahnomen County had 7, Red Lake County had 5 with two probable, Pennington County had 4 with nine probable, and Kittson County had 4 with two probable.

Updated weekdays at 11 a.m., with data current as of 4 a.m. the previous business day.

Data is for cases that were tested and returned positive. At-home test results are not counted by MDH.

All data is preliminary and may change as cases are investigated. Many data points are collected during case interviews. Data presented below is for all cases, regardless of interview status. Data for cases pending interview may be listed as “unknown/missing.”

Positive PCR test results are considered confirmed cases. Positive antigen test results are considered probable cases. All probable cases get the same public health follow up and recommendations as cases confirmed by PCR tests.

Daily Update:

Because all data is preliminary, the change in number of cumulative positive cases and deaths from one day to the next may not equal the newly reported cases or deaths.

On 11/11/21, newly reported cases includes the remainder of a backlog of cases from the last couple of days. Over the past weekend COVID-19 case growth exceeded intake capacity, resulting in a temporary backlog.
