EXPLANATION OF DILLABOUGH’S MOVE FROM WARD 6 TO AT-LARGE
The City of Crookston would like to clarify a recent candidate filing matter involving Patty Dillabough. A press release from the City of Crookston is below-

Patty Dillabough initially filed as a candidate for the Ward 6 City Council seat. During the candidate filing review process, it was determined that a clerical error existed regarding the ward boundary information available through the Minnesota Secretary of State’s records. The ward boundary information had not been updated to reflect the City of Crookston’s redistricting that took effect following the 2022 redistricting process.

Prior to the redistricting, Dillabough resided in Ward 6. Under the current ward boundaries, however, her residence is now located in Ward 3, making her ineligible to run for the Ward 6 City Council seat.

Dillabough had previously withdrawn her candidacy for the school board in order to seek municipal office. Because she is not eligible to run for the Ward 6 seat, she has filed as a candidate for the At-Large City Council position, for which she is eligible.
