After a two-year pause due to COVID and event restrictions, the Minnesota Cancer Crusaders were finally able to bring back the Easter Egg Scramble event at the Crookston Sports Center, and the turn-out was amazing! They’ve written a letter to the many people and businesses they wish to thank for the success of the event and to everyone who brought their families to enjoy a couple hours of fun;
We had a 10,000-egg scramble, craft, and vendor fair, pictures with the Easter Bunny, balloon animals, cotton candy and popcorn, cascarones, nachos and elotes in a cup, games, a coloring station, raffles, and a mountain of prizes given away.
We’d like to thank our sponsors and volunteers: Bremer Bank, Crookston Firefighters Association, City of Crookston, Crookston Times/ Valley Shopper, Fair Meadow Nursing Home, Crookston Rotary Club, Walmart Crookston, staff at the Crookston Sports Center, and our committee members and their families – all who donated toys, prizes, money, and candy for the Easter eggs plus volunteered their time before and during the event.
We also thank our vendors: Joyful Heart Photography, Crookston Shriners, Balloons by Misti, Mariella Vasquez and Rena Zapata, Korrie Blake Boutique, Crafty Granny, PetsPro+, DeVoge Designs, and Crookston Kiwanis Pioneer 100s.
Proceeds from the event will go to regional cancer treatment programs and agencies Trails to Treatment, Shriner’s Hospital, and Ronald McDonald House.
