Taxpayers in 64 Minnesota counties and 3 tribal nations who were affected by the rapid snowmelt flooding or Winter Storm Wesley will get extra time to file Minnesota returns and pay Minnesota taxes, the Minnesota Department of Revenue announced today.
This applies to individuals and businesses that are in the following tribal nations in the area:
- Red Lake Band of Chippewa
This also applies to individuals and businesses that are in the following northwest Minnesota counties:
- Beltrami
- Kittson
- Marshall
- Norman
- Pennington
- Polk
- Red Lake.
Affected taxpayers in these locations who have Minnesota tax returns or payments due from April 11 to April 16 will not be assessed penalties or interest if they file and pay their taxes by April 22, 2019. This includes Individual Income Tax returns and payments that are due on Monday, April 15, 2019.
