ONE AIRLIFTED FOLLOWING SINGLE VEHICLE ACCIDENT SUNDAY

On Sunday, July 14 the Polk County Sheriff’s Office responded to a single vehicle crash on County Road 12 near the intersection of 430th St SE and Center Ave. Deputies arrived on scene and located the vehicle at the bottom of the ditch. It appeared the vehicle had struck multiple trees after entering the ditch, causing heavy damage to the vehicle. Two adult females were located inside the vehicle. Fertile Fire Department and County EMS also arrived on scene. All three agencies worked together to safely remove the females from the vehicle, both were taken to Riverview ER in Crookston. The driver was later airlifted to Sanford Hospital in Fargo. Both parties were wearing seatbelts and alcohol is not believed to be a factor.

The extent of the injuries for both parties is unknown at this time. The driver is identified as Deloris Fritz (63) of McIntosh, MN and the passenger Brenda Fritz (36) of Plymouth, MN. Also assisting was the Minnesota State Patrol. No further information will be released at this time.
