PARTY AT THE POOL WAS A SPLASH

This afternoon, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 the community was treated to a free afternoon of swimming sponsored by Fin & Fit of Crookston. This event, part of Ox Cart Days fun was intended to get people out and spend time at the beautiful pool Crookston has.  The doors were open to the outside patio where Fin & Fit of Crookston, along with other volunteers, were serving snacks and drinks to the swimmers.  The pool was packed.  There were kids visiting, drawing with chalk on the patio and really enjoying the property as a whole.  Children of all ages, families, and young adults were splashing, swimming, and having a great time.

The final count of participants for the free afternoon of swimming was 156.  It was so good to see so many fill the pool.  Swimmers were treated to a diving demonstration at 2:00 p.m. by three young men, Jaycer Davis, 15, and Tiyaz Davis, 14, of Fisher, and Miles Moore, 19, of Crookston.  The young men wowed the audience.

Carol Gregg and Cindy Hulst established Fin & Fit Crookston to promote the Crookston Public Pool and its offerings.  Their main goals are to promote, advocate, publicize, and sponsor events at the pool and on its patio to encourage the use and renew interest.
