The Crookston Pirate Dance team competed in the Section 8A competition in Wadena on Saturday. The Pirates only competed in the kick competition. Crookston finished fifth place, only 10 points from advancing to the state competition. “We, unfortunately, couldn’t compete in Jazz due to a last-minute injury but still competed in kick,” said Pirate Coach Grace Espinosa. Last year we ended second to last in kick. This season we finished in 5th. This is only my third season coaching, but it’s by far the hardest working group of kids I’ve had. They’ve been amazing to work with, and I’m so proud of them. I can’t wait to see what the future holds.”
