Team Scores-

2. Warroad-Roseau – 549
3.  Fosston-Bagley-  512
4.  CROOKSTON-244

In the meet’s opening event, Crookston’s 200-medley relay team of Thea Oman, Madison Hoiland, Elizabeth Erdman, and Claire Oman won the race by nearly 2-seconds. “We did well,” said Crookston head coach Marley Melbye. “We started out the meet right away with the 200-medley relay and the gals swam really well and they took that event home and just built a lot of momentum at the beginning of the meet. The girls were putting close to their best time together which is fantastic to be doing right now.” In Crookston’s next event Thea Oman took first place in the 200-freestyle with a blazing finish in 2:08.50. “Thea Oman won it and cut one-second off her time so another solid race for her,” summarized Melbye. “Another one that had a good race in the 200-freestyle was Fallon Johnson who took seventh place, so for a young, fairly new person to the competitive world of swimming she swam fantastic in that event.” Madison Hoiland got the Pirates back on the podium with a third-place finish in the 200-IM finishing in 2:39.74. “That’s one that she’s kind of gone back and forth on swimming but chose that over the 50-freestyle and relay looked great in the 200-IM,” noted Melbye.” Thea Oman continued her strong night winning the 100 freestyle with a time of 58.25. “She won the 100-freestyle and put up her personal best of the season by one-second and again she’s looking really good with a contending chance in a couple weeks,” added Melbye.
Crookston added another last podium trip with their 200-freestyle relay team of Claire Oman, Madison Hoiland, Elizabeth Erdman, and Thea Oman combining for a time of 1:52.77. The Pirates Madison Hoiland added a first-place finish in the 100 breaststroke winning with a 1:19.32 finish.

The Pirates return to the pool in two weeks when Crookston returns to Warroad for the Section 8A Meet beginning Friday, November 9 at 5:30 p.m. and continuing Saturday, November 10 at 3:00 p.m.
