The Crookston High School and Crookston Police Department gave the Crookston Pirate Girls Tennis team a send-off to the state tournament on Monday morning.
The team walked through the hallways with the band playing behind them as classmates, family, and friends cheering them on. Following the send-off at the High School, the team was escorted by the Crookston Police Department out of town and on their way to Minneapolis.
The girls first round match will be against St. James on Tuesday at 10:00 a.m.
Members of the team are Emma Gunderson, Coral Brekken, Morgan Nelson, Isabelle Smith, Brekken Tull, Calleigh Fanfulik, Paige Abrahamson, Kaylie Clauson, Addison Fee, Mariah Overgaard, Georgia Sanders, Ashlyn Bailey, Logan Brekken, Emelia Hoerner, and Ava Martin. The team is coached by Gina Gunderson, Katie Fee, and Emily Meyer.
