Hawley took care of business in the second set with a 25-15 victory. “We had a really slow start today. Crookston vs Fertile Beltrami-
Crookston started slow again in the second match and the Fertile-Beltrami Falcons took advantage as they won both sets. “We started flat again and served five straight balls out of bounds. We had too many errors,” said Coach Stopa. “We struggled getting to the ball and Fertile-Beltrami played well.”
Crookston vs Frazee
Frazee won the first set and Crookston answered by winning the second set, for their first victory of the day. “In the second set we did much better with some good passing and Sydney Anderson really played well and Hailey Seaver played well too,” said Coach Stopa. “We won the last set we played so it was a good ending and hopefully it will help us get ready for Warroad on Tuesday.”
From the start of the day, Crookston wasn’t able to get things going and struggled to put everything together going 1-5 in the six sets on the day. “This was probably the most down I have seen our team. Everybody struggled and we couldn’t get anything going,” said Coach Stopa. “We had problems with our technology with our video camera, stats and our bus didn’t have heat for half of the trip and we started slow and didn’t play like we could. It was a rough day all-around today.”
Crookston drops to 7-12-1 on the year.
