POLK COUNTY COMMISSIONERS TO MEET TUESDAY MORNING

The Polk County Commissioners will meet Tuesday, March 5 at 8:00 a.m. in the Commissioners Room at the Polk County Government Center.  Their consent agenda includes approving auditor warrants and approving two Lost Warrants issued to Fengestad-Solie Post #200, number 5000640 was dated May 2, 2017, for $40.00 and number 218203 was dated May 20, 2016, for $40.00.  During the board members issue forum, the commissioners will discuss the County Board Roundtables on – Getting the Tools for Leading Locally Handout.

The department head presentations will begin at 8:30 a.m. with Polk County Attorney Greg Widseth presenting a resolution (2019-13) accepting financial donations on behalf of Polk County Coordinated Victim Services.  Public Health Director Sarah Reese will request the advertisement and hiring of a .49 FTE Wellness Coordinator and .8 FTE Public Health Nurse.  She’ll also present on the Strategic Prevention Framework – Partnership for Success, recommend the University of Minnesota Crookston Chancellor Mary Holz-Clause for the Polk County Community Representative on the Polk-Norman-Mahnomen Community Health Board and provide an update on Legionnaire’s. 

Environmental Services Director Jon Steiner will present change orders and a trade-in request to Titus MRF Services.  The trade-in is in the amount of $200,000 with a payment for the equipment prep for sale of $29,704.  The change order is in the amount of $31,462.50.  Steiner will also request an extension of the double-wide construction trailer at the Transfer Station on a month-to-month lease and provide an update on the Transfer Station and temporary office lease. 

Mark Dietz from Polk County Facilities Management Department will request to move forward with filling a vacated custodial position.  Bob Kovar and Joel Praska will provide a report regarding the Middle-Snake-Tamarac River Watershed District.  Nicole Bernd, West Polk Soil & Water Conservation District, will present a resolution (2019-12) to adopt and implement the amended Red Lake River Comprehensive Watershed Management Plan and a Memorandum of Agreement for the Wild Rice-Marsh River One Watershed One Plan.  County Administrator Chuck Whiting will present a contract for services for Staff and Board Teambuilding with an estimated final amount of $6,500.
