The Polk County DFL held caucusing Tuesday night at six locations throughout Polk County. There were 95 participants in the DFL caucus. Results on who was chosen as the delegates and alternates chosen to represent Polk County at the multi-county convention in Thief River Falls on March 13 will not be available until each location’s paperwork has been received by the organization’s chairperson. State delegates will be chosen at the multi-county convention and national delegates will be chosen at the DFL State Convention held in Rochester May 29-30.
The Polk County DFL directors and volunteers shared the following information about the upcoming Presidential Primary on Tuesday, March 3.
What you will do at the primary:
- Vote for your preferred candidate in the Democratic presidential primary.
What you won’t do at the primary:
- Meet neighbors that share your political beliefs and make new friends, and get more connected to your community
- See your ideas become part of the Minnesota DFL’s platform
- Have a say in who the DFL endorses in state and federal races
- Learn how to get involved in the 2020 elections to keep Minnesota blue
- Meet local candidates and elected officials
