POLK COUNTY SHERIFF, MN STATE PATROL, CROOKSTON AND EGF POLICE CONDUCTING EXTRA ENFORCEMENT

The onset of summer weather is something that we all celebrate in Northwestern Minnesota, but unfortunately, that nice weather sometimes results in careless driving behaviors that can lead to motor vehicle crashes, severe injuries, and even death. The period from Memorial Day through Labor Day is frequently referred to as the “100 Deadly Days of Summer” because of the high number of serious crashes – and lost lives – during this period. Because of that, area law enforcement agencies, including the Minnesota State Patrol, Polk County Sheriff’s Office, and the Crookston and East Grand Forks Police Departments, are conducting extra enforcement. These agencies are taking part in extra enforcement that is focusing on seatbelt and child restraint violations from May 20 through June 2. In addition, there will be officers out working extra speed enforcement from May 1 through September 2.

Help our officers keep Polk County Roads safe this summer by slowing down and buckling up—every trip, every time.
