The Polk County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate a reported assault that occurred on County Road 9 in Polk County. The Victim was assaulted while attempting to assist two individuals in an SUV in the middle of County Road 9 approximately 1 to 1 ½ miles West of Hwy 75 in the Crookston Area. One of the individuals assaulted the Victim, took a gun from the victim’s vehicle and money from the victim’s person. The Victim was able to get away. The two individuals took off in what is described as a Silver or Tan SUV, which appeared to be a Jeep Grand Cherokee with Minnesota plates. The Polk County Sheriff’s Office is looking to speak with anyone who was in the area of the County Road 9 and Hwy 75 intersection between 12:15 and 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 23.
