RIVERVIEW FOUNDATION AWARDS RICHARD MAVES HEALTHCARE SCHOLARSHIPS

In memory of long-time Crookston community member Richard Maves, the RiverView Foundation has established the Richard Maves Healthcare Scholarship for area high school graduates who are enrolled and are pursuing a degree in a healthcare field.

Richard Maves was a kind-hearted person known for his impeccable work ethic.  His life legacy was his career as a pharmacist and successful business owner.  Maves managed Eagle Drug in downtown Crookston for thirty-plus years.  He was self-motivated, highly successful and well respected by his retail clients and friends.  He passed away in 2015 at the age of 80, but left a lasting impression on the community professionally and personally.

There are five Richard Maves Healthcare Scholarship winners this year.  They are Efroinia Kutsev, Erskine; Forrest LaPorte, Crookston; Riley Hermreck, Crookston; Kylie Solheim, Crookston; and Anna Ogaard-Brekken, Crookston.

“The RiverView Foundation is proud to offer this healthcare scholarship in memory and in honor of Richard Maves’ life values and unconditional commitment to serving others,” said RiverView Foundation Director Kent Bruun.
