Born May 3, 1958, in Crookston, MN, Roxanne was the oldest of eight, and embraced her role as the Big Sister early on, igniting a lifelong passion for helping others. Her drive and determination led her to earn multiple degrees and titles over the years. From Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) and EMT to Licensed Social Worker (LSW), counselor and motivational speaker—one thing was certain: she dedicated her life to serving others—using the Holy Spirit as her guide.
At 19, Roxanne married the love of her life, Jim, and together they built a warm, inviting home near McIntosh. Their family grew with the arrival of sons Bryan and Bryce, and Roxanne’s life became a vibrant tapestry of family, faith, and friendship. The bedrock of her community, she shared the Lord’s love with everyone she met, meeting each person where they were at and expecting nothing in return. To know Roxanne was to love her.
Roxanne’s journey was not without trials. Over a challenging four-year period, she cared for both her son Bryan and her husband Jim during their battles with cancer. Despite the heartbreak of losing Bryan in 2014 and Jim in 2017, she remained a steadfast beacon of hope, demonstrating that even the darkest moments can yield wings of transformation in God’s light.
Trusting in God’s plan, Roxanne, along with Bryce and Andrea, built adjacent homes—a testament to what mattered most: her grandchildren. Roxanne’s home soon became known as the “Grandma House,” a cherished retreat where Jens and Adler would often escape to play games, create art and jump on beds–filling every room with love and laughter. Her nurturing spirit enriched countless lives, including all of those who called her, “Grandma Rox.”
Roxanne had boundless energy, a sense of adventure, and a joyful heart–and was always on the go. From bus trips, destination vacations and bowling league–to art classes and her involvement with Sunday School and P.E.O., her vibrant spirit left an undeniable mark on people’s hearts. May Roxanne’s memory inspire each of us to embrace life’s transformations with compassion, hope, and steadfast trust in the Lord.
Today, Roxanne’s legacy lives on in her faithful son, Bryce and Daughter-in-Law, Andrea; along with her two precious grandchildren, Jens and Adler of McIntosh, MN; her Mother, Madeline Dufault; brothers: Randy (Kathy) Dufault; Tony (Deb) Dufault; Robin Dufault, and Marlan Dufault; Sisters: Charlene (Bob) Schlueter; Tammy (Roger) Scheving; Lonie (Andy) Woltjer; Sister-in-law, Ann Stordahl (Kelly Austin); brother-in-law, Dave (Wanda) Stordahl; and special friend, Dean Johnson, along with many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, godchildren, and dear friends.
