SEVERE THUNDERSTORM MOVES THROUGH THE CROOKSTON AREA

Crookston and the area was hit by a severe thunderstorm Thursday afternoon.  Heavy rain, hail, strong winds all moved through the area.  Below are storm pictures and reports from KROX listeners around the area.  If you have a storm report or picture, send it to chrisjfee@yahoo.com or call 281-1140 with a rain total.

1 inch – 2 miles east of UMC
.90 – 14 miles east of Crookston (Tilden Junction)  (Pea sized hail)
.75 – 10 miles east of Crookston on Highway 2  (No hail)
.51 – Crookston airport
.50 – by Huot (No wind or hail)
.50 – 4th Avenue in Crookston
.40 – KROX studios
.30 – 1 mile Northwest of the Crookston Airport.  Hail started as dime size and progressed to egg size hail.
Trace of rain – 3 miles east of Dorothy (no wind or hail)
