The Minnesota State Patrol reported a two-vehicle accident at 7:57 a.m. Monday, December 31 on East bound Highway 2 near mile post 21 in Lowell Township (just outside of Crookston). A 1999 Buick Park Avenue driven by Jerome James John Hermann, age 45 of Crookston, was on the shoulder of east bound Highway 2 when it attempted to cross the highway and was broadsided by a 2018 Ford Van driven by Joshua Scott Senske, age 21 of West Fargo. Hermann and one of the two passengers in the Buick, 44-year-old Ellen Kay Simmons of Crookston, were transported to RiverView Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The Minnesota State Patrol was assisted by the Polk County Sheriff Department and the Crookston Fire Department.
