STEPHEN-ARGYLE LEGION BASEBALL WALKS OFF RED LAKE COUNTY IN DISTRICT TOURNAMENT

Stephen-Argyle Legion Baseball Posts #353 and #390 uses big 7th inning to walk off Red Lake County Legion Baseball Posts #22 and #623 in round one of the loser bracket at the Northwest Sub-State District Tournament at Tony Stukel Field in Warroad.

FIRST INNING
Red Lake County’s first batter was retired before Carson Erickson reached on an error. Brock Seeger singled before the next batter grounded into a fielder’s choice. Kegan Schmitz singled to load the bases before the next batter was retired, ending the threat.
Stephen-Argyle’s first two batters were retired before Demetrius Oberg singled. The next batter was retired, ending the inning.

SECOND INNING
The first Red Lake County batter was retired before Blake Brieland drew a walk. The next two batters were retired, ending the half-inning.
Stephen-Argyle was retired in 1-2-3 fashion.

THIRD INNING
Red Lake County’s first batter was retired before Brock Seeger doubled. The next batter was retired before Kegan Schmitz singled to score a run. The next batter was retired, ending the half-inning with Red Lake County ahead 1-0.

SEVENTH INNING
Red Lake County began the inning with a single from Seeger before Blake Audette hit a sacrifice bunt to get Seeger to third. Schmitz singled to score a run to furthering their lead to 2-0. The next two batters were retired, ending the half-inning.
Stephen-Argyle began the inning with singles from Carson Safranski and Darby Bennitt. A pair of errors would allow Safranski to score before Bennitt was caught on the base path. Nick Wingo drew a walk and stole a base before Strange reached on an error. Kekke doubled and Oberg walked to load the bases before Anderson hit an infield single to walk it off for a Stephen-Argyle win 3-2.
