SUBWAY WILL OPEN WITH NEW LOOK, DRIVE-THRU TUESDAY AT 7:00 A.M.

Subway in Crookston is set to reopen eight months after the remodel began.  With a new building, with a new look, and a drive-thru. Neil Ebeling, Crookston Subway owner, said the staff is getting all trained and they’ll be ready to go when the doors open Tuesday morning.  “Opening up on Tuesday,” said Ebeling.  “All the staff will be trained up and ready to go.  All the finishing touches are on the store its just a matter of getting the staff trained up, so they’re ready to go and have all the staff ready.”

Ebeling said they are still waiting or working on several things from signage to landscaping. “We’re waiting on signage, which was not key to the store opening, obviously,” said Ebeling.  “We’re still working on some landscaping so there will be some work still going on around the building after we open.  The key thing is one of our toaster ovens is not working, but we’ve got three of them so we’ll go with one less and we’ll be fine.  One of our bread ovens came it wasn’t working correctly, and we’ve got that fixed.  Once you get all the equipment fired up even though it came from the factory brand new, I’m not sure if they’re not testing them because they are sending them out so fast or what, but we’ve got all the equipment working right except for one toaster.  That won’t hinder us much.”

Hours of operation will be 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. and the store features a new patio, digital drive-thru, and Coke freestyle with 80 different flavors said, Ebeling. “We’ll be open for breakfast at 7:00 a.m. and open until 10:00 p.m.,” said Ebeling.  “We have great patio seating so you can watch the chaos that is the corner of Highway 2 and Main.  There are more entertaining things that happen at that intersection than I ever imagine sitting out there watching so some good people watching out there on the patio.  We have our digital drive-thru so you won’t necessarily be talking to someone to make that order.  The board will walk you through everything that you would need to place an order, you’ll pay for it right there on the digital kiosk, and then you pull up, and we’ll hand it right out to you as soon as it’s done, so you’re off and running.  We do have Coke freestyle also.  We’ll be serving 80 different flavors of Coke products between Coke, Diet Coke, lemonade, Sprite and all that with all the different add-ins they have.”

Ebeling said he was glad to have gotten through what has been a long process, adding that a few gray hairs have popped up from the stress of the past eight months. “I was looking in the rearview mirror earlier, and I saw a few gray hairs on my head that I didn’t have a year ago when I started diving into this whole thing,” said Ebeling.  “It’s been quite a process.  Just a day at a time and we’ll get there.”
