Seventh graders at Crookston High School took a trip to the University of Minnesota Crookston (UMC) to learn about some of the things that UMC has to offer. They were separated into 3 groups. Crookston High School Junior, Blaine Asman, auditioned and was selected as Tenor II for the 2019-2020 Minnesota Music Educators Association All-State Men’s Chorus. Jana (Carlson) Hedlund, a Crookston High School graduate (1998) was a 2019 Minnesota Teacher of the Year candidate semi-finalist. Hedlund is a special education/autism teacher at North St. Paul High School and is the Hedlund daughter of Kathie (Carlson) Barnes of Crookston and John Carlson of Grand Forks.
