The Crookston Pirate Girl’s Swimming team had a strong showing with eight top-three finishes at the Fosston-Bagley Invitational in Fosston. Fosston-Bagley won the event with 337 points besting Perham/New York Mills bu 21 points. Crookston finished in third place out of four teams with 138 points, 33 points ahead of Staples-Motley. The Crookston Pirate Girl’s Swimmers tied for third place with 13 points matched by Warroad/Roseau in the Crookston Invitational hosted at the Crookston Community Pool. Detroit Lakes won the invite with a team score of 124 while Thief River Falls took second place with 36 points. Crookston was led by Madison Hoiland and Mackenzie Aamoth.
The Crookston Pirate Girls Swim team opened the season with a seventh-place finish at the Detroit Lakes Pentathlon meet. Detroit Lakes won the meet with 586, 355 points better than runner-up Park Rapids. In the Pentathlon meet, all swimmers compete in five events and the total points are tallied at the end for the team
