MINNESOTA ANNUAL WITHHOLDING TAX RETURN & DEPOSIT DUE JANUARY 31

The Minnesota Withholding Tax return and deposit for annual filers is due January 31. Exception: If Minnesota tax withheld exceeded $500 during the year, deposits were due the last day of the month following the month where withholding exceeded $500 (excluding December). MN UPDATED INCOME TAX BRACKETS/STANDARD DEDUCTION&DEPENDENT AMOUNTS FOR 2024

The Minnesota Department of Revenue announced the adjusted 2024 individual income tax brackets. For tax year 2024, the state’s income tax brackets will change by 5.376 percent from tax year 2023. This annual adjustment will prevent taxpayers from paying taxes at a higher rate solely because of inflationary changes in their income.

DEPARTMENT OF REVENUE TO REISSUE EXPIRED REBATE CHECKS

The Minnesota Department of Revenue announced today that they will begin reissuing nearly 150,000 one-time tax rebate checks that have gone uncashed and subsequently expired after 60 days from their August and September issuance dates. The reissued checks will go out in two batches: one batch this week and the second batch in early December.
