THE 24TH ANNUAL MR. CHS WILL BE HELD SUNDAY IN THE CHS AUDITORIUM

Crookston High School Student Council will be hosting the 24th Annual Mr. CHS contest on Sunday, February 26, at 2:00 p.m. at the Crookston High School Auditorium. The four contestants are Omar Petithomme, Timothy (T.J.) Sanchez, Elliot Bartrum, and Thor Harbott.

Each year the competition has a unique theme, and this year, the boys have chosen Cars. “We got a little car theme on their T-shirts with red and a little silver on them, so that’s already done for us,” Student Council Advisor Linda Morgan explained. “Then, for our belt, Mr. Travis Oliver already made it, so he’s in the process of finishing the belt for our new Mr. CHS 2023.”

The boys will have the opening number, talent competition, (40% of the vote), then the intermission.  After the break, there will be a performance by Ms. Crookston winner, Macy Fee, before the “Getting Dressed Up” competition, where they’ll be asked a question by last year’s Mr. CHS winner, Alex Kozitka. The competition’s finale will be the belting of Mr. CHS, presented by Kozitka.

“For the People’s Choice Award, for the people that come here to watch it, they get to vote for their favorite person. They’ll put money in these little cartons I have put out for them, and then that money goes out for the Student Council,” said Morgan. “Then the winner of the competition will get a little prize from Student Council.”

Six local businesses have also given prizes to the winner and first runner-up of Mr. CHS, but all contestants will receive a small prize from the Student Council for competing. The Mr. CHS contest is open to the public, with admission at $3.

All the money from admission to the People’s Choice Award will go to the Student Council to fund future student events. Linda Morgan and some of the contestants will join Valley Talk on Friday, February 24, at 10:40 a.m. You can listen for more information about Mr. CHS by listening to the Focus on Education program this Saturday at 8:35 a.m. on KROX. You can listen on 105.7 FM, 1260 AM, or by clicking “Listen Live” at the top of this page.
