The United Way of Crookston will have its annual Dine-Out Week from January 21 to January 27.
Dine-Out Week serves as a fundraiser for the United Way, and all community members have to support the cause by going out and eating at their favorite restaurant. “All the public has to do is go eat some food,” said Executive Director of the United Way Libby Boucher, “This is a smaller fundraiser, but it’s nice because it’s one of the easiest ones.”
The restaurants participating in the fundraiser include Irishman’s Shanty, Drafts Sports Bar & Grill, The Ranch (at Minakwa Golf Course), Wonderful Life Foods, McDonalds, and Mugoos/I.C. Muggs. Each establishment will donate by percentage of revenue throughout the week, or a predetermined amount will be distributed to the United Way, depending on the business. “Some restaurants will donate per check or meal,” said Boucher, “Or they will write us a check for a flat amount. It is completely up to the restaurants to decide how and what form it will take.” All proceeds will go toward more than 20 agencies that serve the Crookston area. All agencies will be displayed on the tables of each participating restaurant.
For those who partake in Dine-Out Week, there will be no additional charge for the meals that are purchased. The donations given to the United Way are through the generosity of each business.
