UMC CLUB HOCKEY PLAYERS AND COACH JOHNSON RECEIVE ALL-CONFERENCE HONORS

The WCCHA has announced the All-Conference awards, and six University of Minnesota Crookston Golden Eagle players and Coach Steve Johnson all received all-conference honors.

Coach Steve Johnson has been named the WCCHA Coach of the Year. In his fourth year, Johnson led the team to a record of 25-4-2 this season and a 10-2 conference record. The team was tied for first in the WCCHA Northwest Division and finished second at the WCCHA Conference Tournament. Johnson also has the Golden Eagles ranked #5 in the Central Regional Rankings, which is the team’s highest ranking in program history.

Anthony Foster (Fr., F, Warroad, Minn.) was named to both the WCCHA All-Conference First Team and the WCCHA All-Rookie First Team. Foster has had a historic season for the Golden Eagles as his 53 points (15 goals and 38 assists) are a new rookie record in program history, and currently have him with the second most points in Golden Eagles history in a single season.

Jake Huska (Sr., D, Preeceville, Saskatchewan) was named to the WCCHA All-Conference First Team. Huska has been having another unbelievable season with the Golden Eagles with 32 points (Seven goals and 25 assists) and was dominant in his own end. Huska led the Golden Eagles’ defense in assists and points this year and led the WCCHA North West Division in points by a defenseman.

Logan Syrup (Jr., F, Park River, N.D.) was named to the WCCHA All-Conference Second Team. Syrup continues to put up historic numbers with the Golden Eagles as he has his second 50+ point season with the program with a 50-point season (24 goals and 26 assists) and was tied for the team lead in goals this season.

Adam Goody (Fr., G, Airdrie, Alberta) was named to the WCCHA All-Conference Third Team and the WCCHA All-Rookie First Team. Goody has a record of 12-2-1 with a 2.16 goals against average, a .922 save percentage, one shutout.

Nathan Ayotte (Fr., F, St. Jean Baptiste, Manitoba) was named to the WCCHA All-Rookie Second Team. Ayotte was a key contributor to the Golden Eagles this season with 36 points (22 goals and 14 assists), including four multi-goal games which saw two hat tricks.

Jackson Fuller (Jr., F, Bloomington, Minn.) was an honorable mention for the All-Conference Teams following his incredible 44-point season (16 goals and 28 assists) and his first full season as the captain of the Golden Eagles.
