UMC MEN’S GOLF FINISHES 10TH PLACE AT NSIC CHAMPIONSHIP

The University of Minnesota Crookston Golden Eagle Men’s Golf team finished 10th place out of 10 teams at the Northern Sun Conference Men’s Golf Championships played at Shoal Creek Golf Club in Kansas City, Missouri.
UMC shot a three-round total of 969, 13 strokes behind St. Cloud State.  Winona State won the championship with an 870, 26 strokes better than runner-up Concordia-St. Paul.
UMC was led by Connor Humble (Soph. Rosemount) who finished 20th place with a three-day total of 230.  Ben Trostad (Fresh. Crookston) was 38th place with a 242.  Ben Koisti (Sr. Lake Norden, S.D) finished in a tie for 44th with a 248.  Ethan Magsam (Fresh. Crookston) finished 46th with a 251 and Ethan Johnson (Sr. Roseau) finished in 50th place with a 263.
With the win, Winona State earned the NSIC’s automatic bid to the NCAA Central/Midwest Regional, which will be played at Hot Springs Country Club, Arlington Course in Hot Springs, Arkansas on May 9-11. The NCAA Championships will be held May 21-25 at The Resort at Glade Springs, Cobb Course in Daniels, West Virginia, hosted by the Mountain East Conference.
