The University of Minnesota Crookston (UMC) men’s golf team finished the two-day Minnesota Crookston Invitational in 6th place, 45 strokes behind first-place Minot State’s 592 in the tournament hosted by UMC at the King’s Walk Golf Course in Grand Forks, ND. The University of Manitoba’s Devon Scahade (R-Sr., Beausejour, Manitoba) was the medalist with a one-under-par two-round total of 143, one shot clear of St. Cloud State’s Troy Ryynanen (Sr., Cokato). Ryynanen’s Huskies took second place as a team, four strokes behind the Beavers.
Connor Humble (Soph., Rosemount) finished in a tie for 15th place shaving one stroke off his opening-round 78 for a two-round total of 155. Ben Koisti (Sr., Lake Norden, SD) shot an impressive 76 in his second round after an opening round 82 for a 24th place finish. Dylan Wenzel (Fr., Lino Lakes) matched Koisti’s second round score of 76 following his first-round 84 to finish in 28th place. Ben Lord (Jr., Brunswick, ME) gave three-strokes back after a first round 79, carding an 82 on Monday finishing in a tie for 29th place. Ethan Magsam (Fr., Crookston) shot 79 on Monday for a two-round total of 162, good for a tie for 31st place. Ethan Johnson (Sr., Roseau) bounced back from an opening-round 85 with a 78 on Monday to finish in 33rd place. UMC’s Ben Trostad (Fr., Crookston) improved upon his opening-round 85 with an 83 on Monday for a 38th place finish, while Joey Kekke (Fr., Argyle) closed out the Golden Eagles’ efforts with back-to-back 94’s to finish in 41st place.
