UMC MENS GOLFER CONNOR HUMBLE NAMED ALL-AMERICA SCHOLAR

University of Minnesota Crookston men’s golfer Connor Humble (Jr., Rosemount) was named a Srixon/Cleveland Golf All-America Scholar as announced by the GCAA. Humble is just the second student-athlete for Minnesota Crookston men’s golfer to ever receive the award, joining Seth Heppner who received the award in 2016.

614 student-athletes, the most since the awards incept in 1982, received the prestigious honor, including 99 Division II players. To be eligible for the Srixon/Cleveland Golf All-America Scholar award, the individual must be a sophomore, junior, or senior in NCAA Division I, II, III or NAIA, or receiving an associate’s degree in their last year of eligibility in the NJCAA. In addition, they must have a stroke-average under 78.0 in Division II, and maintain a minimum cumulative career grade point average of 3.2. For 2019-20, they must compete in 40 percent of the team’s competitive rounds.

Humble led the team with an average of 76.7 on the season. He shot a season-low 72 on two occasions, at the Minnesota Crookston/King’s Walk Invite and the J.R. Watkins Invitational. Humble finished tied for 11th at the Bemidji State Invitational after shooting rounds of 76 and 73. He tied for 21st in Minnesota Crookston’s home event at King’s Walk Golf Course. Humble has maintained a 3.67 GPA in Sport and Recreation Management. Humble is looking to build on an already impressive career for the Golden Eagles as Minnesota Crookston men’s golf heads into the 2020-21 season.
