UMC MEN’S GOLFER CONNOR HUMBLE NAMED FIRST-TEAM NSIC ALL-CONFERENCE

University of Minnesota Crookston men’s golfer Connor Humble (R-Sr., Rosemount, Minn.) was named NSIC Men’s Golf All-Conference First Team. Humble is the first Golden Eagle to earn first-team accolades since Matt McClure in 2013-14. Humble is the first UMN Crookston men’s golfer to earn placement on an All-Conference squad since McClure was named to the second team in 2014-15. He joins McClure, Jake Sanders, Steven Busho, Branden Schwartz, Matt Hiller, Lance Walvatne, Dan Lenz, Chad Underdal, Nate Dahl, Tommy Mueller, and Mike Paape as Golden Eagle players named NSIC Men’s Golf All-Conference First Team.

Humble was named NSIC Co-Men’s Golfer of the Week after placing in the Top 10 at The Mule in Warrensburg, Mo., and shooting scores of 70, 70, and 71. Humble is averaging 75.4 on the season. He has a low round of 69 this season. Humble has helped the Golden Eagles to their best season in the last decade, as they have shot three rounds under 300 this season, including a 287 at the Mule. The round was the program’s lowest since 2010-11. Humble has three Top 20 finishes at the NSIC Men’s Golf Championship. He has been a staple for the Golden Eagle men’s golf program over the last five seasons and has been instrumental in the growth of the program.

He was joined on the All-NSIC First Team by Brandon Nelson of Bemidji State University, Taylor Zack of Concordia University-St. Paul, Ben Laffen of Minnesota State University, and Abraham Elmore, and Brady Holland of Winona State. Thomas Huettl and Brandon Sperling of Concordia-St. Paul, Jack Evans of University of Sioux Falls, Matthew Chandler, Dylan Brown, and Matt Turner of Winona State, were named to the All-NSIC Second Team.

Laffen of Minnesota State was selected as the NSIC Men’s Golfer of the Year. Holland of Winona State was named the NSIC Men’s Newcomer of the Year. Taylor Ramirez of Concordia-St. Paul was selected as the NSIC Men’s Coach of the Year.
