UMC VOLLEYBALL SIGNS TWO PLAYERS

The University of Minnesota Crookston volleyball team announced the signing of Audrey Cariveau (OH, 5-9, Kevil, Ky./Graves County H.S.), and Makenna Frazier (OH, 5-8, Nevis, Minn./Nevis H.S.) to a National Letters of Intent. Cariveau, along with Frazier, will add to the outside hitter position.

Audrey Cariveau (OH, 5-9, Kevil, Ky./Graves County H.S.)
Cariveau is a four-time All-Region pick at Graves County H.S. In addition, she is a four-time All-District selection. Cariveau was named to the All-State team twice and has three times been named her team’s Most Valuable Player. Cariveau has over 1,000 kills and 1,000 digs in her career. She has the single-season kill record at her high school with 586. In addition, she has the career kills record at Graves County H.S. with 1,772. Cariveau set the single-game kill mark for her high school with 28. As a junior, Cariveau averaged 5.48 kills per set.
“Adding a player of Audrey’s caliber to our team is very exciting and we can’t wait to see her in a Golden Eagle uniform,” said Head Coach Sarah Morgan. “We felt a connection with Audrey from the moment she stepped on campus and are happy to make Crookston her home away from home for the next four years.”

She is the daughter of Bret Cariveau and Cassidy Cariveau. Cariveau plans to major in international business at Minnesota Crookston. Her father played basketball at the University of Missouri-St. Louis. Her dad started his own volleyball club in 2018, which has grown into the most competitive club in the surrounding area.

Makenna Frazier (OH, 5-8, Nevis, Minn./Nevis H.S.)
Frazier is a four-time All-Northwoods Conference pick as a volleyball player at Nevis H.S. Frazier is a three-time all-conference honoree for basketball. In addition, she is a two-time All-Northwoods Conference pick in track.

“We are so excited to add Makenna to the Golden Eagle Volleyball family, she brings a wealth of athleticism and competitiveness to our team,” said Head Coach Sarah Morgan. “Makenna is a great athlete and volleyball player, and we cannot wait to see what she adds to our team in the gym, classroom, and community.”
Frazier ran track at Minnesota Duluth and played semi-professional football for the Maui Magic. She was born in Hawai’i. Her middle name Pualei was given to her by a kupuna, or an elder in Hawai’i.
