The University of Minnesota Crookston women’s basketball team announced the signing of Abi Fraaza (F, 6-0, Birnamwood, Wis./Wittenberg-Birnamwood H.S.) to a National Letter of Intent.
Fraaza is a two-time All-Conference First Team selection in basketball. She was named a Wisconsin Basketball Coaches Association Honorable Mention All-Star. Fraaza also earned All-Conference Second Team honors. She was named the MVP for the Conference for her junior year. Fraaza is averaging six points and 3 rebounds per game during her senior year at Wittenberg-Birnamwood High School. As a junior, she averaged 16 points and 11 rebounds per game. As a sophomore, Fraaza had eight points and 11 rebounds per game.
In softball, Fraaza is a two-time All-Conference First Team selection.
In volleyball, she is a two-time All-Conference First Team pick. Fraaza earned All-Conference Honorable Mention accolades. She has been a member of the National Honor Society since her sophomore season
“I really like Abi’s length and the ability she has to play multiple positions for us,” said Head Coach Mike Roysland. “Abi is someone who can shoot the three very well. She is an all-around skilled player who will be a great addition to our team. We are very glad to have Abi joining the Golden Eagle women’s basketball program.”
Abi is the daughter of Bill and Charity Fraaza and plans to major in exercise science and wellness at UMC.
