The University of Minnesota Crookston (UMC) Women’s Soccer team failed to build off their first win of the season on Tuesday, falling 3-0 against Bemidji State in the season-finale NSIC match played at the UMC Soccer Field.
Bemidji State opened the scoring 13:08 into the match after Erin Becker (Soph., Andover) received a pass from Skylar Prentice (Sr., Pulaski, WI) and slotted her shot into the net giving the Beavers a 1-0 lead. Minnesota Crookston failed to generate a shot on goal in the first half, but goalkeeper Athena DiMario Done (Jr., Windsor, Ontario) stopped five shots to keep the Golden Eagles’ deficit down to 1-0 at halftime.
The Beavers doubled their advantage 12:26 into the second half with a goal from Sara Wendt (Soph., Arden Hills). Bemidji State added one final goal in the 78th minute with a strike by Maggie Cade (Fr., Lakeville) closing out the visitors’ 3-0 win.
Minnesota Crookston ends its season with a 1-15 overall record and 1-14 record in the NSIC. Bemidji State improves to 12-5-1 overall and 11-3-1 in conference play.
