JAMESTOWN UNIVERSITY SCORES THE LAST THREE GOALS TO GAIN SPLIT WITH UMC HOCKEY 6-3

Jamestown University scored three goals on their first five shots in the game and had 3-0 lead with just over 10 minutes in the first period and then scored two third period goals to seal a 6-3 win over the University of Minnesota Crookston (UMC) Men’s Club Hockey squad. UMC did battle back to tie the game at 3-3, 12 minutes into the second period, but Jamestown came back with the last three goals including the only two in the third period to take the win and a split on the weekend. UMC had three different scorers in the game with senior Casey Kallock (East Grand Forks) got his second goal of the season and two Golden Eagles scored their first goals, Dylan Borseth (Jr-Williston, N.D.) and Nikolai Rajala (Fresh-Coleraine) who had a couple assists to add to a goal and three point afternoon. Hunter Maximnuk with two goals to lead the Jimmies including a third period goal and also Blake Biermaier (Fresh-Thief River Falls) had a goal and an assist in the third period to seal the deal for the Jimmies. Jamestown outshot UMC 38-31 in the game. With the loss, UMC is 1-1 on the young season and will be back at home next Friday and Saturday hosting the University of North Dakota. Jamestown University is 2-3 on the season and will be at Dakota State-Bottineau next Friday.
